Welcome to Hull Studio- headquarters for the personal artwork, creative direction and design projects of Gordon Hull- painting, drawing, film, photography, writing, music, sculpture, product design, collage, digital experiments and more.

Most known for being one of the founders and creative director of the now defunct cult multidisciplinary studio/fashion brand Surface to Air, Gordon’s personal creative output has taken on a life of its own, all of which comes to life with his signature brand of color, optimism and cinematic sensibility straight out of his professional work in the luxury world.

Here at the Studio, in addition to an archive of Gordon’s work, you’ll find original work- drawings, paintings, objects and more for collecting.

FROM GORDON:

I think of my work as entertainment-

Imagery and ideas made of clips from dreams, lines of color, marks, melodies, thoughts, poems, spots dots scribbles squiggles and energy. It’s laughter and tears and smiles and winks and kisses and sounds and flowers and fires and, well, maybe even the occasional Fez.

It’s not trying to be pretentious or intellectual. It’s just trying to be cinematic, and have a good time. I hope you enjoy checking it out as much as I enjoy creating it. And with the Studio, I wanted to create a space where it can all live together.
